Tips women must consider to maximize fertility
Have you not been able to conceive despite trying a lot? If it has been a lot of time and you haven’t seen the correct signal on the pregnancy stick, it’s time that you consider the following ways of boosting up your fertility. However, make sure you take the below-mentioned steps only under the supervision of a gynecologist.
Keep a check on your body weight
Maintain a balanced weight to keep your reproductive cycle under control. This means you need to maintain the right body mass index (BMI) which would signify that you are neither overweight nor underweight. Your bodyweight should lie somewhere between 19 and 24, which would indicate that you have a healthy weight.
Track your cervical mucus
Cervical mucus changes throughout the menstrual cycle. It is at the maximum right before ovulation and it is the least after the period. When your mucus is egg-like and feels stretchy and clear, that’s the time you are most fertile and more likely to attain motherhood.
Don’t eat junk food
As a rule of thumb, stop the consumption of junk or unhealthy food, even if it is in small quantities. The reason behind this is that junk food acts as a hindrance in causing fertility as it makes the reproductive cycle irregular. Consequently, you may not ovulate as often as required or it might be a possibility that you may not ovulate at all.
Drink enough water to stay hydrated
You drink water for a reason and it is not just quenching your thirst when you are pregnant. It is important for your cervical fluid that helps the sperm find the right egg. To check if you are consuming the right amount of water, you may observe your urine to be light yellow, which means that your cervical fluid is highly active.
Manage stress
Stress is bad for attaining fertility. You may be trying too hard and may be under a lot of stress, which places a hindrance in ovulation. As per a study, women who were in stress ovulated 20% lesser eggs as compared to women who were not in stress.
Have sex regularly and keep a track on what you do after sex
It is advisable to have sex at least two to three times a week. This is how your probability of becoming pregnant will increase. Experts say that you if you are trying to conceive, you may try having sex once in a day. After sex, you should avoid going on long runs or entering hot tubs because these raise your body temperature, which may not be appropriate for ovulation.
Use an ovulation calendar
Awareness is an important aspect of knowing when your fertility will be at its maximum or when you’ll be least fertile. So, with the help of this ovulation calendar, you’ll know when the best time to be pregnant is. The calendar will be able to tell you the exact day or the month when you are the most fertile. You may even notice several patterns in your cycle that you may discuss with your gynecologist or you may download the calendar from various websites.
