This industry is definitely more diverse than we think of it to be. It certainly isn’t just about makeup, hair color, and perfumes it is also about different kinds of toothpaste, deodorants, hair clippers, and other products and services. So, it doesn’t include salons alone, it also includes the waxing franchises, barber shops, massage franchises, and a whole lot more. Hair and beauty industry is about just every product and service dedicated to helping us look and smell the way we’d want to. Hair care is the largest segment with around 86,000 locations whereas skin care comes in as a close second and is expected to generate a revenue of almost $15 billion in a mere span of the next three years.

According to various reports submitted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are close to around one million people employed in the primary service segments of the market and there are expectations of even greater growth. Clearly, the hair and beauty industry is on a rise. There are a number of trends within the industry that are driving both revenues as well as growth out of it.
